End of year on the horizon

Autumn is always the busiest season of my work. Filled with so many different styles of sessions. I got to work with so many education, social policy, humanitarian groups this fall, sitting in on lectures and conferences as I photograph. I worked with schools on portraits from newborns through post grads. I did a few editorial pieces and portraits that will be published at later dates. And worked with individuals on headshots. Meeting so many interesting people, doing amazing work, along the way.

This week things will slow down a little, and I’ll get some time to reset, and feel out what I want to work on more next year. I’ve been thinking a lot that I want to get back to having a very simple space for people to come, and do more intimate portraits. Where we can slow down, and spend a little time making images, not just the quick 20 minutes between work meeting to get that needed headshot refresh. But to sit together and build a personal portrait.

Yesterday, after getting the headshots we needed, we spend a little extra time playing and making these simple but beautiful images. I photographed seven people in this session, here are just a few from the last person. More to come from the others.
