Team Headshots
benefits of team headshots, on site and studio style headshots on location at your office or meeting space
Brand identity, confident cohesive professional visuals across your website and networking platforms. Show work environment.
Just some of the reasons to invest in team headshots.
Don’t spend time worrying if you have ‘the right space’ or lighting to do this on site at your office or conference/meeting space. If you have a great space we will use that as the backdrop, otherwise we can use a simple backdrop for consistency and simplicity.
It doesn’t need to take up too much time, it can be as quick as 5 minutes per person if you have a large team to be photographed in one day.
Below are just a few different sample from the past few weeks, you’ll see in office using the Chicago high-rise skyline as the backdrop, in office with a simple black backdrop, outdoors for a therapist group, and even in the hallway of a park district building.

Maybe think about getting a group shot when you have everyone together for an annual meeting. This one was taken in between an ice-rink and reading room, between meeting and lunch break.
Often people say ‘we don’t have good light at our space for photos’ don’t worry, it’s part of our job to know what light to bring. Below is a example of a great space, that still needs extra light to make it right. See what it looks like with the additional light. Same shot without and with flash.
this week’s session of the week
One of my sessions this week took me to the Chicago Botanical Garden’s Plant Science center. I hadn’t known this was on the grounds, and will return with my teen so she can view the projects, and scientist at work.
For a couple of years I did most of the editorial photography for Northwestern research magazine, so I got to visit many many labs, and hear about the research projects leading the the health, environmental and engineering worlds. It was a part of my work that I really enjoyed. Partly to test myself, to quickly read the lighting situations, and comfortably photograph people who did not love the idea of being in front of the camera, but also because I learned so much about what they were doing, get a little insider view of the fascinating work. I hadn’t been in a lab in a little while, so this was a fun session for me.

Studio senior portraits
As we enter a new school year, some of us have our babies entering their last year of high school, me included. Some years ago someone asked if I did senior portraits, having not grown up in the US I didn’t really know what they were referring to, so I of course wanted to give it a try. Now I love doing senior pictures. It a mix of portrait, fashion and editorial in one session.
I think the most popular style sessions are outdoors, a lot of people like nature, and because we live in the midwest now is the best time of year to get those colorful, rice green photos. There is still daylight hours post school day for a few more weeks, then we are into just weekends. If you are interested in a senior session reach out now, I have a few more time slots available.
And if your not quite ready, I love doing in home and studio session during the darker months.

Academy of Movement & Music ballet performance photos.
While most of the event work I do is conferences, educational events and award ceremonies, once in a while I get to do something in the arts. Early this summer I photographed The Academy of Movement & Music’s annual performance.
We started with some portraits of the dancers, and continued with to the dance performance photos, from the little littles, to the seniors about to go off to college. Here is just a little taste of some highlights.

Welcome Aug. 2025
New website, welcome
It’s that second part of the year for fresh starts. Shorter days have begun, school is returning for those who attend. One of my refreshes is a new clean website. There is still information to add, and photos to subtract, and a huge library of photos to choose from to add. When is it too many, do people get the scope of my work if I keep it minimal. It’s difficult to know. So over the next few weeks I will tidy as I go. Feel free to let me know what you think, would love to hear your thoughts. And would love if you would share it with anyone you know who might be interested in my services. I would love to work with some new clients. I’m always open to a challenge.
I do a lot of headshots for a lot of different people. While a headshot is generally simple, forward focused, clearly lit, it can still be uniquely you if you are relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. Don’t worry, I’ll help you with the posing, and clothing, and location.
